Swampscott Massachusetts in a tranquil seaside community located fifteen miles north of Boston on the North Shore of Massachusetts Bay and is bordered by Lynn, Salem, Marblehead and the Atlantic Ocean.
Developed by the wealthy as a resort town, the first in the area, in the early 1800's, Swampscott has many beautiful homes and grand estates that were subdivided to build more homes through the years adding to the history and character of this beautiful town.
Swampscott is the home of the first ever lobster pot and the invention of the Swampscott Dory, a flat bottom fishing vessel used for pulling the lobster pots from the water. This type of vessel is still in use today around the world and lobster is still going strong here.
An affluent residential community, mostly suburban, is easily accessible by train, bus, MBTA Blue Line and car to the city of Boston and surrounding areas. Friendly and welcoming you will find fine dining and shops, leisure and recreation.
