Marblehead Massachusetts is a picturesque seacoast town steeped in history. It is situated 18 miles northeast of Boston, on the North Shore of Massachusetts Bay and is bordered by Swampscott, Salem and the Atlantic Ocean.

Marblehead offers many miles of coastline which make it possible for the many vacationers from around the world to come and enjoy the vast beauty of this quaint coastal community and everything it has to offer from soaking in the sun to swimming, sailing and yachting or fishing. Marblehead in now known as the Yachting capital of the world and is host to one of the oldest junior yacht clubs in the country, Pleon Yacht Club. Rich with History

The town is mostly a residential community offering several small shops, some restaurants and minor industry. In its early years, Marblehead's main source of income was fishing and the shoe making industry. You will still find many fishing boats and lobster boats in the harbor and the fishing industry is still strong here. As you stroll through downtown, you will be taken aback by the 17th and 18th century buildings sprouting up from the crooked roads and public access routes.

There are many other attractions in Marblehead, such as parks, playgrounds and recreational areas that offer a variety of opportunity for entertainment and leisure time. Marblehead Neck, a sandbar on the eastern side, is the home of the Massachusetts Audubon Bird Sanctuary and Marblehead Light, the only lighthouse of its kind in the New England area can be found here.

Marblehead was also the first to open a charter school in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts; Marblehead Community Public Charter School.
